TEAM Jump Start Academy is a 4-day workshop that provides support for educators planning to pursue National Board Certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS).
National Board Certification (NBC) is a rigorous process through which educators describe, analyze and reflect upon their practice. TEAM Jump Start, mirrored from the NEA Jump Start, is designed to familiarize participants with NBC and better prepare them for the assessment process.
TEAM Jump Start, taught by national board certified teachers, is designed to familiarize participants with the rigorous process of NBC and better prepare them for the NBC assessment process; giving the educator the ability to describe, analyze and reflect upon their practice. Participants will become familiar with the foundation, components, and requirements of NBC.
All participants who complete Jump Start will be "first-in-line" for the Education Leadership Oklahoma (ELO) scholarship ($1,300) from the Office of Educational Quality and Accountability (OEQA) which subsidizes part of the registration fees for the NBCT process.
Workshop Schedule: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday, July 23rd through Thursday, July 26th.

Cost: OEA members- $95 (thanks to a Great Public Schools Grant from NEA)
non-OEA members- $435

Target Audience: Pre-K through 12th grade – educators, librarians and school counselors (certificated employees)
*Note: Three years of teaching experience is required to apply for the National Board Certification assessment, but is not required to participate in TEAM Launch. Pre-K through 12th-grade educators, teachers, librarians and school counselors (certificated employees) encouraged to apply. This workshop is open to all Oklahoma teachers regardless of association membership, but there is a scholarship for members.
